so this week i learned the #s leccion, how to back down from a fight, and how much of a blessing the gosple is in our lives
so
this week we were supposed to have a big baptism activity were all of
the elders in my zone bring their baptisms to one area and the president
of the mission speaks and its this really big cool activity. but
unfortunety because my zone leaders are dipps they put a ton of pressure
on baptisms so that the zone could look good infront of pres. so the
sisters in our district had this investigator named juan jose and they
needed help with setting a date with him because of the fact that hes an
alchoholic so the zone leaders went to their area and thru out all his
booz and set a baptism date with him sounds great right? WRONG the next
day the sisters call saying they need a baptism interview for this guy
so he can get baptised for the activity. so my comp get in a members car
and race to their area we get their and he shows up at his house DRUNK
with a bottle of wine in his backpack. and im just looking at the
sisters like WHAT?! so we go into his house just me and my comp the
sisters wouldnt even go in the house and come to find out that the
sisters had visited him that morning and he told them that he wanted to
kill himself. so im in this filthy house with this poor drunk guy who
cant stop shaking because of the lack of booz in his body and crying
because of his depression and addiction to booz AND COCAIN. so we calmed
him down helped him clean up i went and bought him a fat bag of lays
chips and told him that with jesus´s help he can change his life for the
better. and in the end he told us that he didnt want to kill himself
and that he was gonna work on changing little by little by going to
church and by drinking less. so we said a prayer and i gave him a big
hug then left. i have never wanted to yell at a pair of woman so bad in
my entire life!!!! they had been visiting him the past 2 months and
everytime that they visited he was either high or drunk WHAT WERE THEY
DOING THERE!!!! AHH THEIR JUST SO DANG IGNORANT(jordyn just be smart
ok)!!!!!!!! so were on our way back to our area and i get a call from
the zone leaders and their all sorts of ticked off that hes not getting
baptised and i dont think ive ever dropped cane so hard in my entire
life !!! it was brutal! but i learned something that ill never forget
yes numbers are important #s signify souls for our heavenly father but
our job is to invite not to pressure everyone into the water. its a
matter of respect for the holy ordinence of baptism yes everyone needs
it BUT it has to be in the right time if that makes any sence.
ok
so i have also learned how and when it is worth to fight. my new comp
and i are basically opposites and im super gratefull for him because
before i would just fight to fight about whatever the subject was. but
know ive learned the game hah just like my dad and mom have always told
me "play the game josh" well mom and dad i am playing the freakin
game!!! it only took me 5 really long hard years to figure it out :P
so
before the mission i really took advantage of the church. its always
been in my life and ive always not thought much of it but the change
that can come through the church cant even be explained in words. i
cryed for the first time in the mission last sunday. sister gonzalez my
convert called me into one of the rooms of our church to ask how to fill
out a tithing slip and as i watched her fill it out she put 10
pesos...... thats basically 70 cents. i just started crying this is a
single mom who lives alone with 4 kids who only has money to eat bread
cause its cheap and SHES PAYING TITHING!!!! i will always remember her
and her amazing example to me.

fam. dont take what we have for granted. i know being apart of the
church can be hard the people suck, 3 hrs every sunday is crazy, and 10 %
of what we make is alot of money. but the blessings that our heavely
father has for us are inpresunant!
